The smart mirror is a device with a reflective screen and voice and gesture recognition that I developed as my final year project at the University of Vic. The mirror runs MirrorOS, an open source app platform built on top of Electron that makes it easy for other developers to build apps for the device.
- Voice control: Different voice commands are available to launch apps. You can say "shakira video" to launch YouTube with a video of Shakira, "play the radio" to launch the radio app, "show me the news" for the news app or "weather" for the weather.
- Gesture control: can be used in apps to navigate through the content or to play games. For example if you search for "pictures of cats" you can navigate through the pictures by moving your hands.
- Smartphone remote control: A smartphone companion webapp lists all the apps that are installed in the mirror and lets you interact with them.
